Lightship has had a 20 year relationship with Disney Parks which has included the production of numerous television specials, series, online videos and commercials. For 10 years, Lightship re-imagined and produced the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade for the ABC network. Under Lightship, the show began to attract top level performance and host talent including Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Stevie Wonder, Andrea Bocelli, Ryan Seacrest and Nick Cannon, among many more. In 2005, Lightship and Executive Producer Andy Perrott accepted the National Emmy Award for Best Special.
Over the years, Lightship developed and produced 12 prime time specials on all aspects of Disney Parks and Cruise Line for Discovery, Travel Channel and Destination America which were later released on DVD and featured on Netflix, Hulu and Amazon.
Among Lightship’s standout projects for Disney is 26 long form commercials shot in both Spanish and Portuguese to encourage Central and South Americans to plan a Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line vacation. The plan called for casting 8 actors who could play a Spanish family and a Portuguese family. Shot over the course of 10 days, the spots were shot at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Cruise Line and at Walt Disney World resorts and water parks. The commercials originally aired on Disney Channel networks throughout Central and South America and currently live on Disney Park’s International website.
